ATSC @ the NAB Show

The 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada was a huge success for the ATSC. The organization was mentioned throughout the show at press events, papers, presentations, in member company booths, and in our own exhibit areas. Some of the highlights included:

MDTV Marketplace – Central Hall Lobby

In the Mobile DTV Marketplace, retailers, media, and manufacturers showed the latest consumer devices that will enable viewers to watch their favorite live local and national TV programs with portable DTVs, mobile phones, personal media players, portable computers, and other devices.

Participating companies included LG Electronics, Samsung, Cydle, DTVInteractive, Pixtree, iMovee, Roundbox, WithUs, Dell and Hauppauge.

Mobile DTV Pavilion – Booth #SU5726

In the Mobile DTV Pavilion, NAB attendees saw a wide variety of consumer products, transmission gear, and new services offered to make Mobile DTV a reality for programmers, broadcasters, and consumers.

Participating ATSC Member Companies included Axcera, Axel Technologies, Expway, Grass Valley, LG Electronics, Linear Acoustic, Mobitv, Inc, Open Mobile Video Coalition, Pixtree, Rohde & Schwarz, Inc., Roundbox, RRD USA/ScreenService, Samsung, and Triveni Digital.

ATSC Techzone – Booth #SU5217

In the ATSC TechZone, LG Electronics and a Korean Consortium of organizations demonstrated real time applications including delivery of 3-D TV. Dolby, Linear Acoustic, and NBC Universal demonstrated an end-to-end implementation of loudness measurement and control based on ATSC recommended practice A/85.

ATSC Membership

In our continuing quest for new participants to join the important work of the ATSC, we’d like to ask our current member organizations to encourage their non-member associate companies to join. Our appreciation of the work done by our current members goes without saying, but we always welcome new faces!
