The ATSC is looking ahead into the future and asking itself "what comes next?" As a part of this effort, ATSC is sponsoring a Symposium on the Next Generation of Broadcast Television. Topics include advanced modulation techniques, new high-efficiency coding, and the possible future broadcast landscape. ATSC Board of Directors Chairman Elected
The ATSC Board of Directors elected John Godfrey on January 13th to serve as the Chairman of the ATSC Board.
Godfrey is Vice President of Government and Public Affairs for Samsung Information Systems America, a U.S. subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. He directs Samsung's Washington, D.C. activities related to consumer electronics and represents the company in external relations with government and industry, focusing on digital television, broadband, content protection, environment, and other areas.
Godfrey succeeds Wayne Luplow, of LG Electronics’ Zenith R&D Lab, who served as Chairman of the ATSC Board for 2010.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee is in the process of creating the 2010-2011 People & Progress Annual Publication.
