This resource is intended for use by consumers, technical professionals, and the trade press. Basic questions and answers regarding DTV, the DTV conversion process, ATSC Standards, FCC DTV rules, closed captioning, EAS, and related subjects are included. Answers may contain links to other resources. This resource is the outgrowth of work done by the Education and Training Ad Hoc Group (ETAHG) of the ATSC Implementation Subcommittee, which was charged with developing a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) relating to digital television (DTV). This effort -- launched at the January 15, 2002, IS meeting -- is intended to be a ongoing project that will be updated and expanded as time and resources permit.
