"Chairing the ATSC TSG/S3 Specialist Group on Digital ENG provides the opportunity to work towards the most efficient use of the 2 GHz TV Broadcast Auxiliary Service (BAS) channels, in a balanced forum open to all interested parties. It also provides the opportunity to encourage use of the newly created forty 25 kHz-wide Data Return Link (DRL) channels at the top and bottom of the re-farmed 2,025–2,110 MHz TV BAS band, which were proposed by SBE and adopted by the FCC. These DRL channels have the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of ENG operations, and as engineers, ATSC and SBE members enjoy fostering efficiency." |
