At NAB Show New York, Pearl TV, the coalition of U.S. broadcast companies transitioning to NEXTGEN TV announced it has developed a FastTrack program to accelerate development and retail availability of low-cost upgrade accessory receivers. The program will create a diverse market of accessories that will bring NEXTGEN TV features to 91% of households that have displays with an HDMI input, but are not equipped with NEXTGEN TV technology.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards and recommended practices for digital terrestrial broadcasting. ATSC member organizations represent the broadcast, broadcast equipment, motion picture, consumer electronics, computer, cable, satellite, and semiconductor industries. ATSC also develops digital terrestrial broadcasting implementation strategies and supports educational activities on ATSC standards.
