2025 ATSC Meetings and Conference | June 11-13

About

ATSC’s June 2025 meetings will take place in downtown Washington, D.C. at the CONVENE meeting facility at Hamilton Square (600 14th Street, NW.)

There is no hotel room block available for the ATSC events in 2025, so we recommend making your own reservations at one of several nearby hotels in downtown Washington soon (as June is a very busy month for both business conferences and for tourists.)

The annual ATSC NextGen Broadcast Conference will take place on Thursday, June 12 (open to editorial media) and on Friday, June 13 (closed to editorial media.)

9:00am – 12:30pm:

  • Opening Remarks – ATSC President Madeleine Noland and ATSC Board Chair John Taylor welcome attendees and set the stage for the annual Conference.
  • Opening Keynote Address – Raymundo Barros, President of the SBTVD Forum (Brazil’s TV standardization body), describes how the next country to implement ATSC 3.0 technologies envisions their use and benefits.
  • NEXTGEN TV New Features Update – Pearl TV’s Anne Schelle moderates a panel discussion about the latest developments and new consumer features for NEXTGEN TV in the U.S.
  • New Monetization and Service Opportunities with ATSC 3.0 – Zane Vella of GameLoop, Globo CTO Raymundo Barros, PMVG’s Vinnie Curren and others present options for enhancing and monetizing services using ATSC 3.0, moderated by Gray TV’s Senior Vice President for Government Relations & Distribution, Rob Folliard.
  • Regulatory Update – A panel including representatives from the U.S., Brazil, and the Caribbean present the latest about transition to ATSC 3.0 in their regions.

  • Improving Emergency Communications with ATSC 3.0 – Digital Alert Systems’ Ed Czarnecki and AWARN Executive Director Dave Arland lead a panel on how ATSC 3.0 is revolutionizing emergency communications.
  • Artificial Intelligence in the Broadcast Industry – A special presentation on how AI can be put to best use in the broadcasting world.
  • Beyond TV: New Services and Business Models Enabled by ATSC 3.0 – A panel of experts present current and near-future opportunities provided by ATSC 3.0 that extend beyond traditional television services. Panelists include NAB CTO Sam Matheny and BitPath President & CEO John Hane, with Moderator Denise Willsey, Director of Sales and Business Development at HCLTech.
  • Award Presentations – The Bernard J. Lechner Outstanding Contributor Award and the Mark Richer Industry Leadership Medal are presented.

  • NEXTGEN TV Receivers Update – CTA’s Richard Kowalski presents the latest U.S. data on ATSC 3.0 receiver sales.
  • Conformance Testing Report – Resillion’s Dr. Bob Campbell, Chair of ATSC’s Conformance Implementation Team, provides the latest on the NEXTGEN TV logo testing program.
  • AI-Based Metadata Archiving – A fireside chat with Ashish Agrawal of EON Media on the value of broadcast archives, and how to use AI for unleashing their full potential.
  • Business Advisory Council Status – A report from the ATSC Business Advisory Council (BAC) after its first year of operation, featuring BAC Chair Mary Crebassa of LTN, accompanied by BAC Vice Chairs Lucy Rutishauser, CFO of Sinclair Broadcast Group, and Derek Powell, Chief Growth Officer at Edisen.
  • ATSC 3.0 Mobile and the Competitive Landscape – Evaluating ATSC 3.0’s opportunity in mobile television.

  • ATSC 3.0 International Overview – ATSC President Madeleine Noland leads a discussion of global strategies for ATSC. Panelists include ATSC Board of Directors members Paul Hearty (Samsung) and Richard Friedel (Broadcast Advocate), ATSC PT-6 Chair Alan Stein (V-Nova), and international consultant to ATSC Michael McEwen.
  • Closing Remarks – ATSC President Madeleine Noland provides a postscript and adjourns the conference.
