Washington, DC, August 14, 2025 – Next-generation broadcasting technology pioneer ATSC,™ The Broadcast Standards Association,™ will showcase a wide range of ATSC 3.0-based innovations supporting Brazil’s next-generation broadcast system, “DTV+,” at SET Expo 2025 (August 19-21), the largest gathering of broadcasting, media, and entertainment executives in Latin America. Hosted annually by SET (the Brazilian Society of Television Engineering), the 2025 event will take place in the Anhembi District Convention Center in São Paulo, Brazil’s financial and innovation capital.
“ATSC’s presence at SET Expo 2025 marks a pivotal moment in the adoption of ATSC 3.0, particularly in Latin America, and offers a great opportunity for the organization to meet with its growing membership and other influencers in the region. The event highlights how the standard’s inherent extensibility — designed from its inception with evolving needs in mind — makes it ideally suited to serve Brazil’s DTV+ initiative. From multi-antenna delivery to advanced spectral efficiency, these innovations collectively represent the next evolution in broadcast technology,” said ATSC President Madeleine Noland.
“Brazil’s TV 3.0 initiative is one of the most ambitious and forward-looking broadcast projects in the world, and SET Expo provides an essential venue to showcase how ATSC 3.0 technologies are being customized and deployed to support it. The demonstrations in our exhibit reflect the power, flexibility, and international reach of ATSC 3.0, and we’re proud to stand alongside our members and partners as we help enable the future of broadcasting in Brazil and beyond,” Noland said.
In the ATSC booth (#25) during SET Expo, Cleverlogic/ETRI, DigiCAP/MaruENG, ENENSYS Technologies, HCLTech and MBC will demonstrate the power of ATSC 3.0 innovations for Brazil’s DTV+ transition.
Luiz Fausto, ATSC’s Vice President of Standards Development, said, “The momentum we’re seeing in Brazil reflects the adaptability and forward-looking design of ATSC 3.0. With technologies like MIMO, LDM, and TxID now being tailored for DTV+, we’re proud to support Brazil’s groundbreaking vision for the future of broadcasting.”
ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) and Cleverlogic will have demonstrations of their advanced ATSC 3.0 MIMO Extension technology designed to meet Brazil’s DTV+ technical requirements. Their showcase will feature real-time RF signal transmission and reception using a fully integrated FPGA-based system and support for three key features:
DigiCAP will spotlight its DigiCaster air chain solution, already deployed in over 50% of ATSC 3.0 U.S. markets and now ready for Brazil’s TV 3.0 rollout. Featuring VVC+LCEVC and MPEG-H encoder support, and ready for MIMO deployment, DigiCaster is complemented by a cutting-edge Spectrum Resource Management (SRM) system that optimizes Physical Layer Pipes (PLPs) in real time to ensure optimal use of spectrum and maintain high Quality of Service (QoS).
HCLTech will showcase its Broadcast Core Network, an award-winning, flexible cloud-based platform recognized with the 2025 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show’s Product of the Year award for its ability to unify management of diverse broadcast applications and services. Featuring an Agentic AI framework, it empowers broadcasters to monetize spectrum, deliver advanced datacasting and manage media intelligently, while operating seamlessly across on-premises, public, hybrid and private cloud environments. The infrastructure-agnostic design supports rapid deployment, scalability and resilience, with AI-driven predictive analytics, automated workload balancing and zero-touch orchestration to enhance Quality of Service and reduce downtime. Its open API framework ensures interoperability for multi-vendor ecosystems, while built-in compliance and localization tools enable regulatory adherence and market customization—making it a key enabler of ATSC 3.0 and Brazil’s DTV+ next-generation broadcasting vision.
ENENSYS Technologies will unveil its end-to-end DTV+/TV 3.0 transmission solution, which supports UHD, immersive audio, datacasting, and emergency alerts. Their interoperable system includes MediaCast ATSC™, SmartGate ATSC™, and Vortex III™, enabling broadcasters to leverage MIMO, LDM, and TxID in a fully compliant architecture. ENENSYS’ recent world-first end-to-end DTV+ interoperability test in Brazil underscores their commitment to enabling the future of broadcast media.
MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation) will demonstrate a broadcast-based Enhanced GPS system offering centimeter-level positioning accuracy. Designed for use cases such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, and smart agriculture, the complete ecosystem includes reference stations (MRP-3000), commercial receivers (BMP-3000 and SMC-3000), and a robust service platform.
During the SET Expo 2025 Technology Congress, Noland will speak on the “Internationalization of the Standard – from Alaska to Patagonia” panel, August 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Additionally, Cleverlogic and Kathrein will sponsor in-booth receptions at the ATSC exhibit on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19-20 beginning at 5:00 p.m, respectively.
