Since the last issue of The Standard newsletter, an amendment has been approved to A/324:2024-04, “Scheduler / Studio to Transmitter Link,” that adds signaling of joint use of Layered Division Multiplexing (LDM), Multiple Input/Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission, and Channel Bonding to both transmitters and receivers of the emitted signals. These techniques are described in A/322:2024-09, “Physical Layer Protocol.” To enable use of the technologies together, new signaling values were needed. This amendment added the appropriate values to A/324 so that new combinations of the three signal processing methods can be applied.
In addition to the A/324 amendment, an updated version of the standard has been published that rolls the amendment into the main document. That document is posted on the ATSC web site as A/324:2025-01.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards and recommended practices for digital terrestrial broadcasting.
