A leader in the field of navigation and timing, Dr. Hansen draws upon four decades of experience designing, implementing, and analyzing operational systems across industry, academia, and government. He was instrumental in the development of three GNSS services, the USCG’s national differential GPS service (NDGPS), the FAA’s GPS space-based augmentation system (WAAS), and the USSF’s GPS modernized signal service (L1C/L2C/L5 CNAV). His current focus is on resilience in safety assured and critical infrastructure services reaching application areas in transportation, energy, finance, agriculture, and communication using integrated technologies such as digital television broadcast He received a combined BSEE/MSEE in 1992 from WPI and PhD from Stanford University in 2002.
