Dr. Kyungmo (Stanley) Park is the Chief Technology Officer of CAST.ERA, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s next-generation broadcasting and datacasting technology subsidiary. He has more than 20 years of experience in advanced broadcasting, telecommunications, multimedia systems, and global media standardization.
Dr. Park serves as an Editor for MPEG Media Transport (MMT) standards and actively participates in international multimedia standardization activities through ISO/IEC JTC1 SC29 WG11 Korea. He also serves as Chair of the Broadcast Cloud Working Group for Korea’s ATSC 3.0 standardization activities, leading efforts related to cloud-based next-generation broadcast infrastructure and datacasting services.
He contributed to the development and commercialization of MPEG-DASH, 3GPP-DASH, and CMAF technologies, which were recognized with a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award. In 2020, he also received the Minister’s Award from the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT for his contributions to innovation in next-generation broadcasting and media technology.
Throughout his career, he has contributed extensively to ATSC 3.0, MPEG, 3GPP, and next-generation media delivery technologies, holding more than 300 patents worldwide, including numerous patents adopted in international licensing pools.
