America’s Public Television Stations (APTS) presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Patrick Butler, president and chief executive officer of APTS, who recently announced his intention to retire later this year. Rarely awarded, the APTS Lifetime Achievement Award is given to leaders who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to public broadcasting over the course of their careers.
Champion of Public Broadcasting honoree, Lonna Thompson, has served APTS for 30 years, as general counsel, regulatory counsel, and corporate secretary in addition to her current responsibilities. She also served as acting or interim CEO twice in the course of her service with four APTS presidents.
We congratulate Pat and Lonna, great friends of ATSC, on these well-deserved and well-earned honors!
There are many opportunities to engage and connect with ATSC in the next couple of months, and we hope that you will take the time to stop by and visit the ATSC booth at the NAB Show and join us in Washington D.C. at the ATSC Conference in June.
