ATSC has formed a new Planning Team focused on encouraging global recognition of ATSC 3.0. Initial work will provide strategic guidance that can inform ATSC’s international activities for 2020-21. The Chairman of Planning Team 6 (PT6) is Alan Stein of InterDigital and the Vice Chairman is Louis Libin of Sinclair Broadcast Group.
The scope of work includes “strategic communications with international standards development organizations, new work item proposals for technical enhancements to the ATSC 3.0 standard that support global use cases, strategic presence at international tradeshows/conferences, and other action items as determined by the group” – leveraging resources of ATSC and its members as well as other organizations’ expertise.
PT6 reports to the ATSC Board of Directors and is open to ATSC members.
