Some 50 engineers and TV industry experts gathered in Shanghai, China in October to test the two ATSC 3.0 the Physical Layer Candidate Standards. Layers, the first two ingredients to reach Candidate Standards (A/321 and A/322).
Hosted by China’s National Engineering Research Center for DTV (NERC-DTV), the ATSC 3.0 PlugFest worked through some 150 parameter sets during a week of testing.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards and recommended practices for digital terrestrial broadcasting. ATSC member organizations represent the broadcast, broadcast equipment, motion picture, consumer electronics, computer, cable, satellite, and semiconductor industries. ATSC also develops digital terrestrial broadcasting implementation strategies and supports educational activities on ATSC standards.
