CXD2878ER/CXD6801GL are high-performance receiver LSIs in an optimized single package. Multiple customer products launching in 2020 with more to come in 2021.
Sony has extensive experience supporting worldwide tuner applications with a range of products and solutions, including tuner devices, system-in-packages and tuner packs (modules).
ATSC 3.0 products include a demodulator device CXD2878ER and a tuner + demodulator device CXD6801GL. These devices are fully standards compliant hardware for high performance and low power consumption, no firmware updates needed. ATSC 1.0 is also supported.
CXD2878ER (Project ASHLEY) is a high-performance multi-standard (Terrestrial, Cable and Satellite) demodulator LSI suitable for worldwide applications. The latest ATSC 3.0 demodulation algorithms are incorporated in an optimized single package, low Bill-of-Materials (BOM) solution.
CXD6801GL (Project LUKE) is a Tuner One Package IC integrated RF tuner and demodulator that conforms to terrestrial and cable standards. The RF tuner block provides low noise, low spurious, excellent protection ratio to interference and high reception sensitivity. The demodulator block offers class-leading performance, optimized BOM requiring no external memory and low processor overhead.
We can supply a development kit to potential customers. The design collateral material includes: Datasheet, Application notes, Software driver, Hardware schematics and BOM. The evaluation collateral material includes: Evaluation board, Multi-tuner reference, Windows GUI and Reference test results.
Sony also can supply related products such as mobile and automotive antennas. An indoor antenna solution is in development. We can tailor individual solutions to meet the customer’s end application, including TVs, set-top boxes, automotive applications, mobile devices, PCs and so on. The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards and recommended practices for digital terrestrial broadcasting. ATSC member organizations represent the broadcast, broadcast equipment, motion picture, consumer electronics, computer, cable, satellite, and semiconductor industries. ATSC also develops digital terrestrial broadcasting implementation strategies and supports educational activities on ATSC standards.
