ATSC Vice President of Standards Development Luiz Fausto is a seasoned media technology specialist with more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining ATSC in August 2025, Fausto served as a Technology Regulatory Specialist at Globo TV Network in Brazil, capping a two-decade career there in various engineering roles. He led innovation in digital broadcasting as Chair of the Technical Module of the SBTVD Forum (2020–2024), guiding Brazil’s TV 3.0 (DTV+) Project from global proposals to the development of technical standards. Fausto brings expertise in international collaboration through his close work with ITU-R Study Group 6 and CITEL PCC.II, and as a liaison with global standards bodies. He is active in many other industry organizations and is a frequent speaker at international conferences. Fausto earned his Master’s degree in Applied Computing, Executive MBA in IT, post-baccalaureate in IP Video and Networks, and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
