  • Opening Remarks – ATSC President Madeleine Noland and ATSC Board Chairman John Taylor welcome attendees and set the stage for the annual Conference.
  • Opening Keynote Address – Raymundo Barros, President of the SBTVD Forum (Brazil’s TV standardization body), describes how the next country to implement ATSC 3.0 technologies envisions their use and benefits.
  • NEXTGEN TV New Features Update – Anne Schelle of Pearl TV moderates a panel discussion about the latest developments and new consumer features for NEXTGEN TV in the U.S., featuring Tim Carroll of Dolby Labs, Rob Folliard of Gray Media, and Clarence Hau of NBCU.
  • New Monetization and Service Opportunities with ATSC 3.0 – Rob Folliard of Gray Media moderates a panel presenting options for enhancing and monetizing services using ATSC 3.0 with Zane Vella of GameLoop, Raymundo Barros of Globo, Vinnie Curren of PMVG and Ling Ling Sun of Maryland Public Television.
  • Regulatory Update – Madeleine Noland, ATSC President, moderates a panel of experts from around the world presenting the latest on transition to ATSC 3.0 in their respective regions. Speakers include Alison Martin of NAB, Rachel Nemeth of CTA, Dr. Claire Grant of ATSC Caribbean Implementation Team and Paulo Henrique Castro of SET.

  • Lunch and Exhibits Open

1:30pm – 4:30pm:

  • Improving Emergency Communications with ATSC 3.0 – Ed Czarnecki of Digital Alert Systems and Dave Arland of AWARN lead a panel on how ATSC 3.0 is revolutionizing emergency communications, with panelists Jason Quinn of New Mexico PBS and Robert Maas of Heartland Video Systems.
  • Spotlight FCC – FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington presents his views on NEXTGEN TV.
  • Artificial Intelligence in the Broadcast Industry – A special presentation on how AI can be put to best use in the broadcasting world by Jon Accarrino of Ordo Digital.
  • Beyond TV: New Services and Business Models Enabled by ATSC 3.0 – Denise Willsey of HCLTech moderates a panel of experts on current and near-future opportunities provided by ATSC 3.0 that extend beyond traditional television services. Panelists include Sam Matheny of NAB, John Hane of Bitpath, Stephan Sloan of Jericho Receivers, and Skip Flenniken ofSinclair Broadcast Group (representing Edgebeam).
  • Award Presentations – The Bernard J. Lechner Outstanding Contributor Award and the Mark Richer Industry Leadership Medal are presented.

  • Conformance Testing Report – Bob Campbell of Resillion and Chair of ATSC’s Conformance Implementation Team provides the latest on the NEXTGEN TV logo testing program.
  • AI-Based Metadata Archiving – A fireside chat with Ashish Agrawal of EON Media on the value of broadcast archives, and how to use AI for unleashing their full potential.
  • Business Advisory Council Status – A report from the ATSC Business Advisory Council (BAC) after its first year of operation, featuring BAC Chair Mary Crebassa of LTN, accompanied by BAC members Lucy Rutishauser of Sinclair, Derek Powell of Edisen, and Dr. Claire Grant, Consultant.
  • ATSC 3.0 Mobile and the Competitive Landscape – Mark Aitken of Sinclair leads a panel evaluating ATSC 3.0’s opportunity in mobile television worldwide, including Mark Barrington of Barrington Technology, Parag Naik of Tejas Networks / Saankhya Labs, and Joe Fabiano of AdCore.

Panelists include ATSC Board of Directors members Paul Hearty of Samsung, Richard Friedel of Broadcast.Advocate, ATSC PT-6 Chair Alan Stein of V-Nova, and international consultant to ATSC Michael McEwen.
  • Closing Remarks – ATSC President Madeleine Noland provides a postscript and adjourns the conference.
