Industry events this fall – likely of keen interest to ATSC members generally and broadcast engineering enthusiasts specifically – include the IEEE Broadcast Symposium in October and DVB Asia in November. As with IBC this month in Amsterdam, ATSC representatives and member organizations are playing key roles in these events in the United States and Asia.
IEEE Broadcast Symposium: One of the ATSC’s founding fathers, the IEEE, invites engineering professionals to attend the IEEE Broadcast Symposium Oct. 11-14, in Hartford, Conn. This annual event, produced by the IEEE Broadcast Technology Society, is one of the pre-eminent conferences in this field.
Highlights of the 2016 conference include tutorials on ATSC 3.0. In addition to technical presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to network and socialize at evening receptions and industry luncheons.
The 2016 IEEE Broadcast Symposium will be held in the Hartford Marriott Downtown hotel, with easy access to and from Bradley International Airport.
DVB Asia 2016 Conference & Exhibition: Following the success of the European DVB World conference over many years, DVB is now going east – Far East – for the first time. DVB Asia 2016 will take place Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Bangkok, Thailand. Special room discounts have been arranged at the InterContinental Hotel for DVB Asia delegates.
Concentrating specifically on the regional digital TV needs, the three-day DVB Asia 2016 Conference & Exhibition represents an opportunity to meet leading industry experts who will provide a range of opinions and guidance on the transition to HD and UHD, emerging HDR and HFR technologies and more.
ATSC members are among leading speakers from Akamai, Dolby, EBU, ENENSYS, Ericsson, Harmonic, HHI, Multichoice, NBTC, Rohde & Schwarz, SAT-IP Alliance, Samsung and Sony who will bring us up to date on their strategies and solutions to deal with today’s changing media landscape.
DVB Asia 2016 will offer networking opportunities during the coffee breaks, networking lunch and evening events. The exhibition space adjacent to the main conference room will create further networking and promotional opportunities. A number of leading companies have already booked spaces.
