As Chief Executive Officer of Castanet Corp, Jon Romm is focused on building the future of content and packet delivery through innovative platform technologies and deep application-layer integrations. With a career spanning media, entertainment, mobile-first technology, fintech, and immersive interactive experiences, Jon brings a broad perspective to the evolving broadcast ecosystem.
In his day-to-day role, Jon oversees the company’s overall vision, capital strategy, and nationwide platform rollout efforts. Castanet’s use of ATSC 3.0 technology aligns closely with the company’s larger strategy for next-generation content delivery and connected experiences.
“What excites me most about ATSC 3.0 is what it can potentially do globally in multiple facets,” Jon says, highlighting the broad possibilities the standard presents for innovation across industries and markets.
Although he is not currently serving on an ATSC planning or implementation team, Jon and his company remain actively engaged with the technology as part of their long-term strategic roadmap.
Outside of work, family remains Jon’s top priority. He is a father of five, a grandparent of one, and shares his home with two Old English Sheepdogs.
When he has time to unwind, Jon is currently reading The Escape Artist and binge-watching the TV series Shrinking.
If he had pursued a different career path, Jon says his interests have always centered around moving content and building engaging experiences. What he enjoys most about Castanet’s platform is its ability to bring together many of the industries and technologies he has worked in throughout his career into a single unified backend platform.
