Revisions of two important ATSC standards were approved within the past few days and are now published on the ATSC Web site.

• Revision of A/90, “ATSC Data Broadcast Standard.” The initial version of A/90 was approved in July 2000. A couple of years later, an amendment and maintenance corrigenda were developed and approved. Last year, TG1/S13 began a complete review of the document in recognition of the five-year review cycle for ATSC standards. This work led ultimately to the ballot of the full ATSC membership, which closed on Oct. 28. A/90:2013 is posted on the ATSC web site and can be downloaded from the following link:

• Revision of A/153 Part 3, “Service Multiplex and Transport Subsystem Characteristics.” Earlier this year, a new revision of this standard was approved and published that added support for the Mobile Emergency Alerting System. After publication, some reference number inconsistencies were identified, in addition to the need for some editorial cleanup. This revision corrects those problems. The ATSC membership ballot closed on October 28. The new version of A/153 Part 3:2013 can be downloaded from the following link:

As a reminder, all ATSC ballots close at 11:59 p.m. ET on the closing date. One vote per company. For ballots of TG1, all TG1 member companies who have voting eligibility (as defined on the current Voting Eligibility List) may vote on TG1 ballots. Ballots of the full ATSC Membership are conducted on a dedicated group on Kavi known as the Member Representatives group. This group is made up of the primary representative from each member company.

The Kavi system sends out a notification when each ballot opens. All ballots open at 6:00 p.m. ET. Reminders are sent to members who have not already voted one week before the ballot closes, and then again one day before the ballot closes.
